John Gonsalves Benedicto, 83, of Makakilo, formerly of Kalihi, an Army veteran and City and County of Honolulu groundskeeper, died at home. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son Stanley D., daughters Veronica L. Ortega and Cheri A. Benedicto, sister Marie B. Louis, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Mass: 10:30 a.m. Burial: 1 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl.
