Melvin F. Kini, 52, of Honolulu, a Kamehameha Schools groundskeeper, died in Honolulu. He was born in Papakolea. He is survived by daughter Alexandra; stepfather Manuel Maldonado Jr.; brothers Isaiah and Everett Kini, and Marlin Haraguchi; sisters Wilhemina L. Salinas, Lisa Frank, Carmelita Maldonado, and Elizabeth and Jennifer Haraguchi; and several stepbrothers and stepsisters. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Moanalua Mortuary. Casual or aloha attire. Scattering of ashes to follow at Crown Wells Beach, DiamondHead.
