Nancy Kam Gin Loo Dung was born on November 3, 1907 in Honolulu, HI to Loo Chuck and Wong Shee.
Nancy and her husband Quan Sung were proprietors of Four Seas Restaurant and Wing Sing Wo Hop Kee, a Chinese grocery and merchandise wholesale and retail store. They previously operated the Ideal Shop at the end of the bus line in Kalihi. While still in high school, Nancy was employed as a telephone switchboard operator at the Waikiki Niumalu Hotel where the Hawaiian Village Hotel is located today and also at the C.Q. Yee Hop Merchandise Store in Chinatown
Nancy is a graduate of McKinley High School and Mun Lun Chinese School where she was a scholar, poet, actress, singer, and athlete. Nancy played the Chinese Moon Harp and enjoyed playing softball and baseball. She loved Chinese opera, Mah Jong, gardening, and traveling, especially to San Francisco and Las Vegas, and being with her family and friends.
Nancy passed away January 28, 2012 at the age of 104. She was predeceased by husband Quan Sung Dung, son Dennis Dung, 4 brothers and 7 sisters.
Survivors include daughters Billie and Patsy; son Dixon; daughter-in-law Annette Young Dung; grandson Dean Dung; granddaughters Denby, Dana-Li and Darah Dung.
Celebration of life at Diamond Head Memorial Park on Sunday, February 26, 2012. Visitation from 10:00 am, services begin at 11:30am. Burial on Monday, February 27 at 12:00 noon at Lin Yee Chung Chinese Cemetery on 3430 East Manoa Road.
