WILLIAM ROBERT GRUENEWALDWILLIAM ROBERT GRUENEWALD
61, died Thursday, February 9th, 2012 at the Veteran Affairs Center for Living Care on the grounds of Tripler Hospital.
He was born on November 13, 1950 in the Bronx, New York to Louis and Mary Gruenewald.
Enlisting in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era, he was proud to have served as an Electricians mate at the Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
A 21 year resident of Honolulu, he enjoyed being an usher at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Waikiki.
He is survived by his brother, Robert L. Gruenewald of Honolulu, sister Mary A Stenulson of Colorado, as well as cherished family members in Florida, South Dakota and New Mexico.
The Family gratefully acknowledges the support and care he received by all concerned at Tripler during his long ordeal with multiple illnesses.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 27th, 2012 at 2pm at the National Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
No flowers, please. Donations may be made to the Navy League of Honolulu on his behalf.
