SCOTT J. HIROZAWA
Scott J. Hirozawa, a software engineer and accomplished photographer, bicyclist and outdoorsman, died on February 12, 2012, in Decatur, Georgia, at the age of 50. The cause of death was brain cancer.
Scott Jiro Hirozawa was born on April 22, 1961, in Wyandotte, Michigan, the son of Stanley and Margaret Hirozawa, and the grand- son and great-grandson, respectively, of Dr. Motokazu Mori and Dr. Iga Mori, both of Honolulu. After graduating from Seaholm High School in Birmingham, Michigan, he moved to Portland, Oregon, where he attended Reed College. He later received a B.S. in computer science from Oregon State University and an M.S. in computer science from the University of Oregon. During his career as a software engineer, Hirozawa worked for several companies in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Hirozawa was an avid photographer of landscapes and cityscapes. Much of his work was done in the mountains and national parks of California and Oregon, and during his travels in the United States and Europe. He was also a bicycle enthusiast. He is survived by his parents, a brother, Kent, of Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, and two sisters, Faye, of Decatur, Georgia, and Anne, of Richmond, California. There will be a private family gathering in his memory.
