SOCORRO “CORRINE” LAYOG PASCUASOCORRO "CORRINE" LAYOG PASCUA
October 5, 1944
- March 15, 2012
Corinne was born on October 5, 1944, in Manila, Philippines, to Anorfo and Laura Layog. She enjoyed spending time with her four sisters and seven brothers whom she loved dearly. She attended a private Catholic school on Clark Air Force base, which she enjoyed. In January of 1962 in Honolulu, while on her way to Mexico City she met the love of her life, Robert Sr. She married Robert in Guadalajara, Mexico, on June 30, 1962, then moved to Hawaii and resided in Kalihi then later Kane'ohe. The following year, she enjoyed the arriva of their first son Robert Jr., followed by Hiram, then Jason. She was a proud and devoted mother to her sons and actively participated in their involvement in sports and extracurricular activities. From the 70's through the early 90's she was involved in numerous community affairs such as Little League, PAL Basketball, Cub Scouts, and PTA's. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain. Her first job was as a flight attendant with Philippine Airlines, and thereafter employed at Kailua Drive-In, Avon, and Amway. Her last employer was SuperJet Travel Agency-Windward Hawaii Travel in Kane'ohe where she worked as a manager for many years. She had a passion for travel and, together with Robert, explored the world. She loved going to work and enjoyed the many lasting friendships developed over the years. Corrine lived life to the fullest--a world traveler, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her later years were spent relaxing, talking story, and enjoying the company of her friends and family. She was the glue that held our family together. We miss her and she will remain forever in our hearts. Corrine of Kane'ohe passed away peacefully at home on March 15, 2012. Survived by husband of 50 years, Robert F.
