Eldredge Kaiana "Windy" Sequeira peacefully passed away on February 11, 2012 with family by his side in Salem, Oregon. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, he will be missed by all.
Kaiana was born April 15, 1934 in Lahaina, Maui to Peter and Dorcas Sequeira. He met his wife, Lillie Lei Kealoha from Hilo during high school. Both attended Willamette University (WU), married, made Oregon their home, and celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. Kaiana retired in 1994 after working 42 years for the State of Oregon.
An excellent athlete, Kaiana played football and ran track while attending Kamehameha School on Oahu. He continued to play football at WU and coached there for over 25 years.
After dealing with diabetes for years, Kaiana succumbed to its damaging effects. He leaves behind Lei, his beloved wife, his children Jimmy (Glenna), Peter (Laurie), Pua, and six grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Bishop Memorial Chapel, Kamehameha Schools, Honolulu Hawaii.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers.
