HAROLD W. CONROY
Prominent Honolulu attorney passed away at the age of 97 on March 8, 2012. Hal graduated from University of Nebraska Law School and was assigned to Wheeler Field when the islands were attacked on December 7, 1941. He was introduced to Edna Young, a volunteer nurse from Queen's Hospital, that was visiting the base with other nurses for an afternoon dance. They were married for 62 years when she passed away in 2008 at the age of 95.
Mr. Conroy joined Kelly Henshaw in 1946 in private practice of law in Honolulu. This association grew into the firm of Henshaw, Conroy, Hamilton, Gibson, Nicholson, Rush & Moore. Harold retired in 1976. He was president of the Oahu Country Club in 1972.
Harold is survived by his daughter Win Ann, her husband Charles Stark, his three grandchildren Kimberly, Todd and Paige and his five great grandchildren Chaise, Maxwell, Elyse, Charles, and Matthew. He frequently was heard saying that he lived in paradise, and that his life was a romance.
The public is invited to a mass to be held 11:00 a.m. on May 18, 2012 at Star of the Sea Church. He will be inurned with his wife Edna at Punch Bowl National Cemetery at private services.
