MARY MAU LECAVELIERMARY MAU LECAVELIER
1943- 2012
Mary Mau Lecavelier passed away at home on June 4, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard in 2007and she leaves behind six
siblings as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary graduated from Maryknoll High School and the University of Hawaii. She garnered a long term job as a computer programmer for the County of Los Angeles.
Eventually, she returned to Hawaii to assist in computerizing Hawaii Tax and Bookkeeping Services. Her mentor was her father, Henry. She delved into the business world and explored real estate ventures in buying and selling conversions and 1031 exchanges.
Having tolerant employers (her mom and dad) and financial stability, she traveled extensively especially to Tahiti where she met her husband, Bernard. She could not say "no" to a man who sailed three weeks in a 13ft boat from Tahiti to be with her.
Bernard's death in 2007 left a large void. Stress, anxiety, and sleepless nights took its toll as her already weakened heart failed. Through it all she maintained a sense of humor and an impish look in her eye.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 30 at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary. Visitation: 4 p.m. and Service: 5 p.m. Aloha attire.
Her ashes will be scattered at a later date.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
