Jovita Jara "Jovit" Salmo, 71, of Hilo, formerly of Naalehu, Hawaii, a retired hand harvester for a macadamia nut farm, died in Hilo. She was born in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. She is survived by sons Jerry, Femio and Vic; daughter Amy; brother Irineo Jara; sisters Ludivina Sevelleja, Martina and Conchita Jara, and Lucena Guzman; and two grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday at Naalehu Assembly of God Church. Services: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Naalehu Community Cemetery. Casual attire. Flowers and lei welcome.
