John J. Medeiros, 83, of Kailua, a Republican state House legislator representing Windward Oahu for 18 years until 1986, died. He was also a delegate to the state Constitutional Convention in 1968, chairman of the Oahu Advisory Council from 1969 to 1970 and a Hawaii State Boxing Commission member for many years. He is survived by wife Gloria Medeiros, son Dwaine Medeiros, daughters Pamela Stier and Cindy Maser, sisters Florence Puana and Rose Fryer, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Two sons, Damien Medeiros and Dwight Medeiros, died earlier. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. July 31 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Kailua; burial: 1 p.m. Aug. 1 at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
