MAXIMA BALMORES CAPILI (91) Maxima Balmores Capili, 91, of Kahului, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013. She died in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family, under Hospice care. Services are scheduled for Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Borthwick Norman's Mortuary in Wailuku with visitation from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A private mass and burial will be held at a later date. Maxima, the eldest of 10, was born on June 6, 1922 to Pedro and Blaza Balmores. She married Claro R. Capili Sr. in 1946 and became a mother of 5. She worked for many years as a social worker for the state of Hawaii and also contributed heavily to numerous community organizations. She was a member and lector of Christ the King church and faithfully attended daily mass until the age of 90. Maxima was an intelligent and classy woman. Where ever she went, though short and petite, she walked with great poise and posture. She treated others with dignity and was very welcoming no matter who you were or where you came from. She lived a great life with her husband, one of true love, and her smile was full of true happiness. She was loyal, humble, generous, and well-liked, adored by many for her sweet, gentle manner and unyielding warmth. Maxima was predeceased by her husband of 67 years Claro R. Capili Sr., sons John and Patrick Capili, parents Pedro and Blaza (Diniega) Balmores, parents-in-law Higino and Petra (Velez) Capili, brothers Jose and Teofilo (Jan) Balmores, and nephew David S. Hood. Maxima is survived by daughter Patricia Capili, sons Claro (Laura Boskoff) Capili Jr. and James (Diana Adolphson) Capili, brothers Licarion D. (Perlita) Balmores, Francis (Helen) Balmores, John (Pat) Balmores, sisters Remedios (Milton) Hood, Mary Balmores, Elizabeth (Clayton) Wong, and Mona Lisa (John) Wood, the Raymundo Aguinaldo family of Maui, Kauai, Honolulu, hanai children Steven (Thelma) Suyat and Janice Kikukawa, grandchildren Roselani (Helaman) Aiwohi, Stacy (Justin) Woodson, Adam (Que-Chau) Suyat, Sachi (Adam) Evert, Joshua Suyat, 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
