Paul John SanderPAUL JOHN SANDER Paul John Sander, born in Chicago, Illinois on March 17, 1921, passed away peacefully in Phoenix, Arizona on April 25th, 2014 at age 93. As a Second Lieutenant, he was a navigation instructor on the top secret Norden bombsight during World War II. He taught business classes at Arcadia High School. He was a long time member of MENSA, Toastmasters and Elks Club. Paul retired to travel with his late wife, Manono Bains Sander. They traveled the world together, then moved to Hawaii when their traveling days were over. Manono died in Hawaii, her birth state. Paul was able to enjoy living in Honolulu for seven years before returning to Phoenix for the last year of his life. Elizabeth Johnson brought him companionship and joy during this time, and his family is indebted to her for her assistance and love. He is survived by his brother, Fred Sander (Marilyn Sander), daughters, Peggy Arndt (Steve Bossi), Nancy Santacruz (Ed Santacruz), and Sally Heinrich (Philip Heinrich); and his step-daughter, Diane Blake (Larry Blake), three granchildren and three great-grandchildren.
