Junior Kahoopii Kalima, 94, of Hilo, a former Orchids of Hawaii employee, retired landscaper technician for Keauhou Surf and Racket Club, former percussionist and singer for A Thousand Pounds of Melody and an Army veteran who served in World War II, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Wailuku. He is survived by son Wesley, daughters Kuuipo De Leon and Leialoha P. Kalima, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8:45 a.m. June 6 at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Services: 9:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Aloha attire.
