MYRTLE CALUYA DALDE REPONTE
5-26 MYRTLE REPONTEMYRTLE CALUYA DALDE REPONTE Beloved wife, mother, sister and friend passed away peacefully at home on April 7, 2014. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she went home to be with the Lord. Myrtle was born in Lanai City, on the island of Lanai on July 18, 1942. She was the second daughter of Anastacio Dalde and Trinidad Caluya Dalde. She attended Lanai Elementary and High School and graduated in 1960. Myrtle then moved to Honolulu to attend the College of Commerce to pursue a business degree. She married James "Bon" Reponte in Oct of 1962, and their son James "Jay", was born in June of 1963 on Lanai. The family moved back to Honolulu in 1966. Myrtle was a dedicated, exemplary Secretary and later Executive Secretary and excelled in a career of 42 years. She was employed by the Dole Company, Kapalama Shipyard, Hawaiian Telephone, and U.S. Armed Forces. Most notably, she worked for the U.S. Army's Hale Koa Hotel at Fort DeRussy from 1974 - 2004 as an Executive Secretary directly under the hotel's first three General Managers. She retired in 2004 with 38 years of service to the U.S. Army and earned an "Outstanding" performance rating for 37 consecutive years. Her family and home was most important to her. Providing a loving and hospitable home was her passion. She was fully dedicated to excelling in every aspect of her personal life and had an immense, generous heart. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James Sr. "Boneo", son James Jr. "Jay Jay", sister Irene Dalde Seawright (Jerry), brother Ben Dalde (Naomi "Lei"), brother Anastacio Dalde Jr. "Sonny" (June), sister Joice Dalde Alapag (Glenn), and numerous extended Ohana, classmates (Lanai High School, Class of 1960) and friends. Mass will be held at St. John's in Mililani on Friday, May 30, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. Funeral services and celebration of Myrtle's life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Mililani Memorial Park, Mauka Chapel. Visitation at 9:00 am, service at 10:00 am and burial to follow at 11:30 am. Casual, Aloha attire, flowers welcome.
