ALEX CHRISTOPHER LAMALEX CHRISTOPHER LAM Alex Christopher Lam (20) son of Kerry and Bernie Lam and brother of Trevor Lam passed away on Wednesday, June 18 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Alex, a 2012 graduate of Punahou School had recently completed his sophomore year at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) in Los Angeles, California. A scholar athlete at both Punahou and LMU, where he was working toward a degree in Marketing. Alex was known as a passionate soccer player. He was a member of the 2010 and 2011 State Championship Punahou Men's Soccer team and the NCAA 2013 West Coast Conference Championship team at LMU. Alex was also a member of the Honolulu Bulls Soccer Club. In Los Angeles, the LMU school flag was flown at half-mast on Friday, June 20 to honor his memory. Alex had a beautiful, warm smile and was known for his magnetic personality that he used to pull people together. He embraced the philosophy "Love the life you live Live the life you love". His many friends at Punahou and LMU describe Alex as "the warmest person you could ever meet", a person who "always thought of others before himself", with a "laugh that lights up a room." He was "someone people could always count on" who could "brighten someone's day with just a smile". Alex is survived by his parents, Kerry and Bernie Lam, brother Trevor Lam, paternal grandparents Sun Choy and Shirley Lam, maternal grandmother Mathilda Loo, uncles Jon Lam, Greg Martin, Joseph Loo and Thomas Loo, aunts Sherelee (Garret) Goo, Doretta (Stan) Masui, cousins Matthew Goo, Em Goo, Kendall Loo, Erin and Justin Masui. A celebration of Alex Lam's life will take place at 10:00am on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Hemmeter Fieldhouse Gymnasium on the Punahou School Campus. Visitation will precede the Celebration of Life at 9:00am. Attire: Aloha wear.
