JUNE INOUYE ITO June 2, 1955 - March 3, 2015 June was born in Honolulu to Taeko (Inouye Taketa) and the late Glenn Inouye. June married Fred Ito on November 10, 1984 and they had a lovely daughter Malia. June graduated from McKinley High School in 1973 and then graduated UH in three years. She completed Tulsa Law School with a JD degree. June started practicing law with the Public Defenders' office and later the state Attorney General's office. In 1988, June began her career with the federal government Department of Justice (INS) and then the Department of Homeland Security (ICE) as senior Assistant Chief Counsel. She served as Acting Chief Counsel during some of the absences of the Chief Counsel. June was a charter member of the newly formed national attorneys union. June was a caring and loving person with a strong Christian heart. She was a positive person with lots of energy, smiles and effervescence. She had a great sense of humor and was most generous with her time. June loved to travel, go to restaurants, and read her bible. But most of all, she loved her family, especially her daughter Malia and the Lord. June is survived by her husband Fred, daughter Malia, mother Taeko Taketa, sister Jayne Tanimoto (Grant) and brother Don Inouye. Funeral services will be held at Nuuanu Congregational Church on Saturday, April 11, 2015. Visitation begins at 3:30pm and Services will promptly start at 5:00pm. Overflow parking can be found past the church at Soka Gakkai International or across the street at the Temple Emmanuel. The family requests no flowers and casual attire be worn.
