ROBERT ARNOLD "BOB" MERRIAM
ROBERT ARNOLD BOB MERRIAM Robert Arnold "Bob" Merriam of Kailua, HI, passed away on April 1, 2015 at his home of 50 years in Enchanted Lake. Born April 30, 1927, in Keokuk, Iowa. Bob moved his family to Hawaii in 1964. He retired from the U.S. Forest Service, the Hawaii State DLNR and several years as a legislative aide. Bob is survived by Rita, his wife and partner of 63 years, sons Mark (Kathleen) and Keith (Andrea), daughter Carol, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and a multitude of friends. He was active in Emmanuel Episcopal Church, in Diocesan affairs, environmental concerns, his garden, and his families lives. He was the essence of a family man and mentor. He provided opportunities for his children to grow and learn and travel and helped them to make their own way. He had a great love for his community and service to others, Bob lived his life with no regrets. He was a man of goodness and faith. Memorial: Gathering at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Sunday April 12 at 3:00 pm. Service at 4:00 pm. Reception to follow. Aloha attire.
