Edward Thomas “Blackout†Whaley, 86, of Aiea, a Waikiki beachboy and machinist at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, died in St. Francis Hospice. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by sons Michael, Thomas, Mark and Edward K.; daughters Judy and Suzanne K.; sisters Loretta Apa and Evangeline “Momi†Keaulana; hanai brother Anthony “Ants†Guerrero; hanai sister Lynette Rogers; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Celebration of life and scattering of ashes: 8 a.m. Saturday at Waikiki Beach, fronting Duke’s Restaurant. Loose flowers welcome. Updated service information for an obituary published April 10.
