James Yasuto Sugano, 91, of Pearl City, a retired U.S. government employee for the Naval Communications Area Master Station, Eastern Pacific; a member of Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 442nd Infantry; and an Army veteran, died in Kuakini Medical Center. He was born in Kukuiula-Koloa, Kauai. He is survived by spouse Frances Y., sons Dean Y. and Mark Y., and sisters Miyako Kure and Sueko Ishibashi. Private services.
