Alice Sum Moy Chun Ahu
ALICE SUM MOY CHUN AHU Age 99, of Pearl City, Oahu, Hawaii passed away on November 2, 2015. Born on June 10, 1916 in Honolulu, Alice was a retired substitute teacher, housewife, avid sports fan and a dedicated and faithful disciple of Christ. Alice was a 1934 graduate of McKinley High School where she was proud to be a member of the Girls Athletic Association and the Girls Reserve, and participated in various sports and YWCA activities. During her younger years, she worked at the Dole and Libby canneries, Hawaiian Fruit Co., S.H. Kress, and the Hawaii Smoke Shop. Alice was married to Isaac Ah Tim Ahu Jr. (predeceased), and was loved, admired and respected by all of her family and friends. She would thank the Lord every morning for letting her live another day, and daily placed her life in his hands. Alice is survived by sons Norman, Timothy (Bobbi) and Elwin (Joy); daughter Leinaala Ahu Isa; hanai daughter-in-law Sandy; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 3 great- great-grandchildren. Visitation 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday (December 2, 2015) at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary; service 6:30 p.m. Private burial. Aloha attire. No flowers.
