FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

ALEXANDER “ALEX” KEALOHALANI MASARU KUMURA
$nameALEXANDER ALEX KEALOHALANI MASARU KUMURA Alex was called home to Jesus on the morning of January 26, 2016 on his way to school. Alex was a kind, loving, compassionate, and thoughtful 12 year old who touched the lives of so many people during his short but very memorable life. He was a very conscientious 7th grade student at King Intermediate School who worked hard to achieve Cobra of the Month and Gold List Honors. Alex really loved being at home playing with his brothers but he was also adventurous and enjoyed being outdoors. He played flag football, basketball, and baseball but soccer was his love which he played since he was 6 years old. Alex loved riding his dirt bike. He spent many weekends camping with his family and friends at the Kahuku Motocross track where he has been riding since he was 6 years old. He would wake up before dawn and could ride for hours until he ran out of gas or daylight. His caring and compassionate personality led him to take great joy in looking out for the younger riders in need of help. He also loved going to the beach, playing in the sand and throwing football with his brothers. He especially enjoyed having sunset dinners at Kalama Beach Park when the beach wasn't too crowded so that they had the entire beach to play and be silly. Alex was an aspiring doctor and chef. He would watch cooking shows and make us his favorite steak, fried rice, and country potatoes and took great care in "plating" it perfectly. He would even watch cooking shows while running on the treadmill for hours at a time. Alex loved many things. He loved playing minecraft with his brothers and friends, sleepovers, sleeping late, swimming in his pool, playing at the park, making origami, collecting lokai bracelets, Halo figurines and Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon cards and the color purple and hot pink. We miss him dearly every moment and he will forever remain in our hearts. We hold dearly the wonderful memories we created together and it has been such a privilege to be his parents. Alex is survived by his loving parents, Morris and Julie Kumura; dear brothers Cody and Paul; maternal grandma Linda Oguma; paternal grandpa Kenneth Kumura; great-grandma Ann Shiroma, and many aunties, uncles, and cousins. Alex is preceded in death by his maternal grandpa Paul Oguma, paternal grandma Alice Kumura, uncle Grant Kumura, and great-grandparents Sueko Iijima, Paul and Edith Iijima, Joseph Oguma, Francis and Mildred Kumura, and Thomas and Akino Yokooji.
