Eugene S. Evans Sr., 88, of Kahului, a retired Hawaiian Telephone Co. employee and Hawaii National Guard veteran, died at home. He was born in Malulani Hospital in Wailuku. He is survived by sons Gene, Mathew and Shamus; hanai son Douglas Alconcel; daughter Jennie Guerrero; hanai daughter Esther Baldovi; sister Patricia; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. March 10 at Norman's Mortuary. Service: 7 p.m. Additional visitation: 10 a.m. March 11 at the mortuary. Burial: 12:30 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park, Garden of Meditation.
