Alfred James Alameida, also known as "Freddie" and "Papa Freddie," 75, of Honokaa, Hawaii, a retired Willocks Construction pipe layer, journeyman steelworker for Hawaiian Dredging Construction Co. and Johnston Island, former Hawaii champion bull rider and an Army National Guard veteran, died at home. He was born in Ahualoa, Hawaii. He is survived by sons David, Bully, Donny and Derek Gabriel; daughters Deborah and Donnalen Gabriel, and Cookie Vick; brothers Joseph Alameda and Richard Perreira; sisters Lovina Carvalho and Alice Obina; 24 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. April 30 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Honokaa. Mass: 10 a.m. Casual attire. No flowers.
