81Julio John "Sonny" Velles, 91, of Waipahu, a state park caretaker and an Army veteran, died in Wahiawa. He was born in Koloa, Kauai. He is survived by wife Robina; stepson Gilbert Medina; stepdaughters Regina Vasquez, Ruby Richardson and Cynthia Mungia; 20 step-grandchildren; 31 step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
