VICKI BETWEE
Vicki Betwee, 96, of Maui, formerly of Kailua, Oahu, made her transition on August 17, 2010. Born Victorine Johnson in Ludington, Michigan, she graduated from Western Michigan College and lived most of her life in Wyandotte, Michigan, where she married Marcus Betwee and raised her family. An accomplished musician, she taught music and kindergarten in Wyandotte until her retirement in 1974. She became a permanent resident of Kailua in 1981 where she eventually lived with her companion, Bill Mason, Sr., also of Kailua.
Known by her children as the world's best mother and her children's friends as "everybody's mother" and "how I would like to be when I'm her age", she is survived by her daughter, Juli Betwee of San Francisco, her son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Joan Betwee of Kula, Maui, and their children, Erik of Honolulu, and Lisa and her daughter Isabella Vicki of Los Angeles.
