Alfred A. “Sonny” Silva, 85, of Hawi, Hawaii, a Kohala Sugar Cane Co. sugar cane contractor, vegetable farmer and an Army veteran, died in Kohala Hospital. He was born in Kaauhuhu Homestead, Hawaii. He is survived by sons Joseph and Frederick, daughters Cecelia Sheetz and Theresa Meikle, five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hawi. Mass: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at the church cemetery. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
