Cecil M. Allison

CECIL M. ALLISON Cecil Allison, widow of the late Dr. Samuel Allison, died on January 16th in Gladwyne, PA with her daughter, Lynn A. Foster, at her side. She was 101, and is also survived by grandsons John A. Claflin and Richard M. Claflin, II. Dr. and Mrs. Allison arrived in the islands in January 1942 on the first convoy to cross the Pacific following the attack on Pearl Harbor. Mrs. Allison was born in Oregon, and educated at Reed College and the Ellison-White Music Conservatory. She established piano studios in Honolulu, was active with the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra, and was a founder of the Piano Teachers Guild. She was on the first Hawaii Grand Jury that seated women. She was active in real estate, and at one point owned twenty-one apartments in Waikiki. In her early 50’s she established an antique business, and was a member of the Council of the Academy of Arts. The Allisons lived in the islands until 1994 when they moved to Pennsylvania to be near their daughter.

EMMA S. FEE 1925 – 2013 Emma Fee, a long time resident of Maui passed away in Honolulu Thursday, January 31st. During her 40 years on Maui, Emma was very active in the community. Emma’s passion for the arts found a home with the all the creative people involved with Hui No’eau and Art Maui. In 2007 Emma relocated to a wonderful community in Honolulu. Her final adventure afforded time with family and many new found dog-loving friends.
