Carleton "Carl" Smith, 77, of Kailua, a retired city planner and Air Force veteran, died in Kailua. He was born in Somerville, Mass. He is survived by wife Jeanne Cullers-Smith; son Jeffrey Cullers; daughters Kim S. Unberhagen and Jenise Harter; brother Arthur T. Smith; and three grandchildren. Inurnment: 2 p.m. Thursday at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to Pali Momi Medical Center.
