WILLIAM HOZO KOBAYASHI
IN MEMORIAM WILLIAM HOZO KOBAYASHI William Hozo Kobayashi, age 63, passed away on December 26, 2009 in Portland, Oregon. A Celebration of Life was held at Zeller Chapel of the Roses in Portland on January 2, 2010. He was laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetary. He was born in Honolulu on October 7, 1946 to parents, Charles Hoichi and Beatrice Tokie (Miyakawa) Kobayashi. In his youth, William loved to surf and shape surf boards. He graduated from Kalani High School. While attending Church College, now known as BYU Hawaii, he joined the Hawaii Army National Guard and served his country in the Vietnam war. After returning from Vietnam he eventually settled in Portland and was employed by the Kraft/Nabisco Factory. He enjoyed working in various departments during his 29 years at the factory. His co-workers and friends all shared stories of his kindness and unselfishness. He also had a soft heart for all animals. William is preceded in death by his father, Charles. He is survived by his Wife, Sharon, of Portland; mother, Beatrice; brothers, Charles, James and Eddie; sister, Mae Kanazawa; nine nieces and nephews; eight grand nieces and nephews; his dog, Kona; cats, Oscar and Shadow.
