George Joseph Shigeo Funai, 78, of Wailuku, a retired auto and heavy equipment mechanic and an Army veteran who served during the Korean War, died in Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Puunene, Maui. He is survived by sons Bryan and Keif, daughter Kathy, brothers Clayton Funai and Patrick Patten, sister Kelea Burns, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Saturday at Borthwick Norman's Mortuary. Services: 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
