He will be missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Betty (Hendrixson) Gouveia and his 5 daughters; Peggy Taphouse (WA), Jane Gouveia-Simpson (CO), Tilda Gouveia (CO), Sally Waller (CA) and Tori Leahy (NC), 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his sister, Patricia Loesche, her husband, Bill and sister and brother-in-law Barb and Terry Monahan of Hawaii.
He was born in Honolulu, was a veteran of the US Army, and had retired from careers in construction and Real Estate. Stanley was attending Xavier University in Cincinnati when he met his wife, Betty, who was a student nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital. They lived in Cincinnati until 1962 when they moved with their 5 daughters to Honolulu. Stan and Betty enjoyed traveling the world and developed many friends (and flowers) as active members of several orchid clubs in Hawaii.
Stan's family would like to thank the staff from Castle Community Care for their kindness and care over the years as well as the staff of Hospice Hawaii for their support through his last months. Stanley's wishes were for a private service for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations in Stanley's memory to Hospice Hawaii, 860 Iwilei Rd, Honolulu, HI 96817.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
