HELEN NOBUYE ASAKURA
Chairman of the Board of Ala Moana Produce, passed away on October 28, 2011 in Honolulu where she was born on August 30, 1923.
She was the widow of the late Raymond Y. Asakura. She is survived by her sister; Mary Matteson of Bennington, Vermont and in-laws Frank Suzuki, Joyce Okimoto and Florence Okimoto, all of Honolulu.
She leaves her daughters, Ann Asakura of Honolulu and Jayne Asakura (Glenn Muramoto) of Mililani, two granddaughters who reside in Chicago, Melia Kimura (Matthew Klancnik) and Noelani Kimura (Michael Kraft) and the third granddaughter, Kulia Lehano (Leroy) who lives in Mililani. Her great-grandchildren are Dallin Lehano and Kiele Kraft. Aunty Helen also leaves many nieces and nephews and their children.
With respect for Helen's expressed wishes, no services were held.
