Rudy Choy, 88, of Honolulu, who helped pioneer the modern catamaran, assisted in the design of the Hokule‘a and popularized the tour boat business in Hawaii, will be remembered in a celebration of life from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at Outrigger Canoe Club, 2909 Kalakaua Ave. He was also an Air Force veteran who served in World War II and the Korean War. He was born on Kauai. He is survived by son Barry, daughter Robin and three grandchildren. Reception: 8 a.m. Services: 8:15 a.m. Scattering of ashes: 9:30 a.m. Casual attire. Loose flowers welcome.
