Felipe Cardines Mejia, 82, of the Green Sands subdivision on Hawaii island, a retired Mac Farms of Hawaii laborer and foreman, died in Kona Community Hospital. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by wife Chrissie C-Mejia; sons Lawrence, Wilson and Reynaldo Mejia, and Oscar Castaneda; daughters Delicia Mapanao, Zenaida Pimentel, Megan Kunishige and Melissa Mejia; brothers Phillip, Franklin, Benjamin and Alan Mejia, and Ben Bolaoen; sisters Francine Weller, Verna Kneeland, Merl Villegas, Sandra Tamondong, Carol Javar, Vivian Hondonero and Shirley Triesch mann; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. Friday at the family residence on Kaalualu Road (second road on the left, first house on the right), followed by an all-night vigil. Additional visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church, Naalehu. Mass: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Naalehu Community Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at the family residence.
