the CPA exam, earned an MBA from NYU, then joined the military, and was stationed in Germany. Upon his return, he attended law school at DePaul University in Chicago. Herb worked for the IRS Office of Chief Counsel in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles as one of its first Nisei attorneys. In 1967, he moved back to Hawaii with his family and joined the law firm formerly known as Ikazaki, Devens, Lo, Youth and Nakano. During his career, he earned a reputation as a tough adversary, and worked very hard to provide opportunities for his children. Herb lived a very full life and had no regrets.
