Joseph DeMattos, 87, of Honolulu, a retired Pearl Harbor Submarine Base public affairs officer and an Army veteran, died in Honolulu. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by sons Albert Rocha, and Joseph Jr. and Michael C. DeMattos; daughters Deborah Vierra and Toni Amaranto; brother Clarence; sister Lorraine Loebl; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
