Danielle "Danie" Barbara Mailani (Barrett) NakagawaDANIELLE "DANIE" BARBARA
MAILANI (BARRETT) NAKAGAWA
60 of Nanakuli, died on July 22, 2012 at Pali Momi Medical Center.
Danie was married to Calvin G. Nakagawa on January 8, 1986; they were married 26 years.
Danie was born in Honolulu, HI on June 22, 1952. Upon graduating from Farrington High School class of 1970, she went on to dance hula with the world famous Kodak Hula Show. Shortly after, she went on to work at Hawaiian Tel as an Operator. She was also a Bank Teller with a few banks, a Hostess at Makaha Inn, among other exciting adventures in her life. She then made it a focus of hers to be home for her children and support them at home. As all of her children grew, Danie started substitute teaching at Nanakuli High School, then later, much, much more than a teacher.
Danie enjoyed Dancing Hula, Bowling, Anything Competitive and loved helping others most of all. There was really nothing that Danie couldn't do, once she decided she was going to do it. She was larger than life!
