Rodney "Bismarck" Alcoran, 69, of Holualoa, Hawaii, a heavy equipment operator for Kohala Sugar Co., J.M. Tanaka, Grace Bros., Goodfellow Bros., Fong and Volcanite Construction and a National Guard veteran, died at home. He was born in Laupahoehoe, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Matea; son Bruce; daughters Jennifer Alcoran, Ronilynn Thorell and Pattyann Veincent; hanai daughters Lilly and Eldayne Barawis; brothers Benigno, Harold and Clarence; sister Veronica Schivone; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation: 7 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kona Ward. Services: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
