George Takashi Mukai, 89, of Hilo, a retired Hawaii Planing Mill vice president of credit and an Army veteran and member of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hakalau, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Janet S., sons Derrick S. and Dwayne T., daughters Georgeianne C. Silver and Cathy Ann R. Moon, sister Millie Perreira, eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Visitation: 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Services: 5 p.m. Casual attire.
