Age 78, of Sunnyvale, California, passed away on July 2, 2012 at home. He was born on May 21, 1934 in Honolulu.
He was a graduate of McKinley High School in Honolulu and served in the U.S. Army before attending San Jose State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Lockheed Martin was the only employer for whom he worked, starting as an electronics technician while attending college on the GI Bill and retiring in 1993 from a professional-level position on the renowned Star Wars project. During retirement he was a successful financial investor and provided generous support to family members for business and education. A meaningful scholarship contribution from his estate was made in his name to San Jose State University.
He is preceded in death by his parents Sam Len Chee and Frances Alew Ching Chee and brother Robert; survived by brother Jameson, sister-in-law Annette Chee-Akana, nephew Matthew Chee, and nieces Roanne Chee-Yamasaki (Kenneth) and Melissa Chee.
Scattering of his ashes in San Francisco Bay near the Golden Gate Bridge was accompanied by reverent Hawaiian chanting. A memorial service celebrating his life followed, and in recognition of his active duty service to our nation, full military honors were rendered.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
