Sept. 9, 2012 John Piwa Kaanapu III, also known as "Big John" and "Buzzy," 74, of Honolulu, a retired city bus driver and a veteran of the Hawaii National Guard and Army Reserve, died in Honolulu. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by companion Glory Pascual; sons John P. IV, William S.C.P. "Billy" and Willard K.; daughters Ululani K. Fong, Kathleen L. Kaanapu and Noelani K.C. Mori; sisters Phyllis J. Zeller, Charlene Kaanapu and June Nicholls; and 14 grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. Tuesday and 11:30 a.m. Sept. 26 at Diamond Head Mortuary.
