72Joseph Tavares Ferreira, 90, of Hilo, a retired Hawaiian Telephone Co. switchman, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by sons Wesley, Alan and Mark; daughters Leona Hale, Gayle Bruce and Pamela Chinen; sister Mildred Cervantes; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Private services.
