GWENDOLYN RUTH HINES COSTELLO
Passed away at home in Burien, WA at 87 with her daughter and her grandson Spencer at her side on July 17th 2012.
She had moved with her husband Frank and two children to Hawaii in 1969. A nurse for over 60 years, she followed her passion of ensuring and safeguarding the health and safety of military dependent women and children in the Pacific. Her husband predeceased her in 1978.
In her last years, her eyesight failed her and she reluctantly moved to the northwest to live with her daughter's family.
She is survived by her sister, Candace, daughter Maura (Robert), her son James and grandsons Griffin, Adam and Spencer.
Interment of her ashes will take place at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please make a donation to the charity of your choice in her name.
