WHITNEY G. BEATTIE Waikiki, HI, a highly decorated, Marine, passed away at the age of 87 on Friday, 09/7/12. Whit retired Gunnrey Sergeant after 24 years and 28 days, 12 yrs civil service. Whit is survived by 5 of his 7 children, William, Colleen, Kathleen, Maureen & Eileen, 9 grandchildren and 15 greats. Whit was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and Patrick lost as infants, as well as the mother of his children, Ramona, and wife Suzi. Whit was seen daily greeting the Waikiki catamaran's guests in their native languages and shaka while swimming with his red USMC hat, & a smile! Service will be held on October 10th at Sts Peter & Paul Church, viewing 8am, mass at 9am with Father Dave, Honors at Natl Mem Cemetery, Punchbowl 10:30 In memory, donations may be made to STS PETER & PAUL Catholic Church (800 Kaheka Street Honolulu) or JACOBS HEART (2007 Freedom Blvd. Freedom, CA 95019) serving the children & families like his great grandchild, Kyle, thru his battle & victory w/ Leukemia.
