HOOPER, Jr., Robert F. Paul (Bob), aged 66, passed away on October 24, 2012, in Honolulu. Born in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Capt. Robert F. Hooper, Sr., USN and Anne G. (ne Hillier) Hooper. Bob graduated from Radford High School in Honolulu. At 18, he won a statewide photography contest resulting in a photo shoot with Vogue. He later attended the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA where he graduated first in his class in fashion photography. After graduation, he worked as a commercial photographer and traveled extensively, twice backpacking around the world. He later settled again in Hawaii where he worked for the federal government while continuing to pursue his photography part-time. Bob is survived by his wife Susan Alice Bender, his daughter Mara Palaez, his grand- daughter Emma Goodfield, his sister, Jean Hunt, his nephew Justin Morgan (wife Michiko) and grand nephew, John Robert (Jack) Morgan. Bob will be remembered by those who knew and loved him for his wonderful sense of humor, his knowledge of and passion for photography, and his great sense of adventure. The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to the doctors, nurses and aides at Kaiser Permanente and St. Francis Hospice for their compassionate and loving care of Bob throughout his final illness.
