October 1, 1916 - February 7, 2013 Angeline Lee passed away on Feb. 7 at her daughter's home in Texas. The eldest child of immigrants from Korea, Angeline graduated from McKinley High School. She was Head Librarian at the Waialua Library and library assistant at the Hawaii Supreme Court Law Library and the Kamehameha Schools. She is the widow of former Waialua Sugar Company executive Joshua Lee and the mother of Realtor Joanne Lee, retired Hughes Aircraft Engineer Sharon (Jim) Dennison, former Chairman of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission Wendy (Phil) Gramm, and retired Census Bureau Regional Director Ralph (Jennifer) Lee. Her grandchildren are Marshall (Teresa) Gramm, Jeff (Susie) Gramm, Lizzy (Manny) Scholz, and Aaron Lee, and she has five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Anne (Charles) Lewis, Alice Thudium, and Louise Fleming, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, her brothers Anthony and Thomas Lee, and her sister Arlena Stavers. Angeline Lee was a remarkable woman who was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and who had a successful career. She and her late husband were pillars of the community. Their home was the center of innumerable happy gatherings of family and friends who enjoyed their gracious, welcoming hospitality, and her superb culinary skills. They also spent much time on the Mainland visiting their children and helping care for their grandchildren. Graveside service and inurnment will be held at Mililani Memorial Park at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, March 9.
