MASAO ROKUI March 2, 2013 Masao Rokui of Seattle 99, passed away after a short illness at the Seattle Keiro Skilled Nursing facility. He was a long time resident of Waipahu. A WWII veteran he served with the 100th battalion, Company B in the newly formed Military Intelligence Service as a Japanese language school instructor. He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for his service with the Military Intelligence Service in ceremonies held in Seattle with other 100th battalion and 442nd regiment veterans. He worked in real estate sales and as a real estate broker in Hawaii until retirement. He is survived by his daughter, Carole, son, Cyril and grand- daughter Whitney. __With our scurrying minds and our lidless will and our lank, floppy bodies and our galloping yens and our deep, cosmic loneliness and our starboard hearts where love careens, we are listening, the small bipeds with the giant dreams.
