Sadao "Sam" Tachibana, 88, of Mililani, an Army veteran who served with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, 2nd Battalion, Company H, died in Mililani. He was also a retired auto mechanic at Orchid Isle Auto Center Hilo. He was born in Lanai City. He is survived by daughters Gail Tachibana and Merle Yusi; brother Walter Matsumoto; sisters Doris Kanemitsu, Betsy Irei and Dorothy English; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Services: 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. No flowers. No monetary offerings.
