82, of Honolulu Hawaii, a woman devoted to her family, died in Houston, Texas . She was raised "a Kapahulu girl," went to St. Augustine School, graduated from Sacred Hearts Academy (1950) and lived her adult life in Aliamanu. She married Shunichi Takeuchi in 1950; she had four children: Doreen Takeuchi, Lisa Takeuchi, Debra Takeuchi (Daniel) Goodwin, Patrick Takeuchi; and she had only one grandchild: Diandra "Didi" Goodwin. She was born to Joseph K. Whaley and Adeline Souza and was the proud sister to Edward "Blackout" Whaley, Loretta Whaley (Donald) Apa, William K.P. "Snooky" Whaley and Leimomi Whaley ("Buffalo") Keaulana. She had countless cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Her memorial service will be on April 6, 2013 at Diamond Head Mortuary, Visitation: 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. Services and Celebration of Life; 2:15 p.m. Urn burial. Hawaiian and/or casual attire. She loved to laugh, eat, "be rascal," gamble and dance to to kachi-kachi music. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives.
